Luxor Temple Egypt Part of the East Bank Luxor TOur
Dendera and Abydos are two sites easily visited from Luxor West Bank. As the journey is some 360km round trip you will appreciate making the transfer in a comfortable car rather than some of the taxis around!
You will also get a taste of the desert.
Temple of Seti I at Abydos, one stop on the day tour from Luxor, Egypt discovered by Dorothy Eade
During the transfer from Luxor, (if you are starting from the East Bank I can arrange a transfer boat or taxi to the West Bank), you can study the mysterious story of Dorothy Eady who claimed to be a reincarnated lover of Seti I. Whether the story is true or not, she gave valuable information about where to dig at Abydos! Things to look for include the helicopter and aircraft carvings, and the submarine. Because it is remote Abydos is a place of serenity even today.

TEmple of Hathor at Dendera. Egypt can be seen during a day tour from Luxor
If you don’t like the idea of the long transfer to Abydos then Dendera is only an hour transfer from Luxor, and here you will find the Temple of Hathor an ancient city housing thousands at one time in history. The famous Zodiac Ceiling was placed here in the first century BCE. But what you see today is a copy, the original is The Louvre in Paris
